Please note that there are several steps in the 1040 interview process. You can jump from step to step, but incomplete information or errors with data entry will be flagged when you click on the Calculate and Check for Errors button.
If you do not finish data entry for your 1040, don't worry. The system automatically saves data you've entered so that you can return to your 1040 form later and continue entering information. Your 1040 will not be filed until you click on the button to e-file at the end of the data entry process. The system will not allow you to e-file your return if errors have not been corrected.
